Description
Low pile.
Antique Bordjalou Kazak accent rug circa mid 19th century from the South Caucasus featuring a dynamic composition of stacked geometric panels adorned with signature latch-hook medallions and diagonal filler motifs. Its striking, primitive design is rendered in highly saturated natural dyes, showcasing a vivid interplay of madder red, ivory, and deep indigo blue tones.
We recommend the use of a rug pad with this rug, this one is a fine choice.

Antique rugs were meant to last centuries, they are hand woven with a tight weave and durable natural materials. All of our antique rugs are 100+ years old and our vintage rugs are 50+ years old. Because of this, expect age appropriate wear including areas of pile wear or loss, frayed edges, small holes or repairs - all of this add to the unique character and one-of-a-kind appeal. Photos are taken in natural light with no filters.
Rug Care
Rug Care
Vacuum or sweep regularly using the suction only setting, do not use the brush function as it can cause damage. Carpet sweepers are also an effective tool for rug cleaning.
Blot spills immediately using a clean cloth or paper towel. If treated right away the lanolin in the wool will help keep the stain from setting in.
Avoid water (keep your potted plants away!). Water that is left on your rug can cause irreversible damage to you rugs foundation. If your rug gets excessively wet bring it to a professional rug cleaner ASAP.
Use a quality rug pad under the rug to extend its life by preventing stretching, sliding or wrinkling. This rug pad is a fine choice. When choosing a how thick you want to the pad, you might consider where you are placing the rug and how drastic of a “lip” or height change makes sense for the area. You might not mind more of a cushion in a living room or hallway, but might not want so much cushion in higher traffic areas like entry or kitchen. For size, it’s safer to order larger rather than too small, then cut to size. If you have other rugs you might factor in using excess for those.
When to see the pros: Your rug has been professionally cleaned prior to purchase, after that we recommend having the rug professionally cleaned every 5-6 years.
