Contemporary signed Marvin Bailey ceramic crying devil face jug. 'Marvin Bailey' carved to base. Earthy brown glaze jug distinctively detailed with sculpted devil horns, protruding ears, coarse broken teeth, and a runny white drip glaze under the eyes that mimics tears. Marvin Bailey is a self-taught potter from Lancaster, South Carolina famous for his highly expressive, whimsical, and sometimes grotesque characters.
