Antique rugs were meant to last centuries, they are hand woven with a tight weave and durable natural materials. All of our antique rugs are 100+ years old and our vintage rugs are 50+ years old. Because of this, expect age appropriate wear including areas of pile wear or loss, frayed edges, small holes or repairs - all of this add to the unique character and one-of-a-kind appeal. Photos are taken in natural light with no filters.

Vacuum or sweep regularly using the suction only setting, do not use the brush function as it can cause damage. Carpet sweepers are also an effective tool for rug cleaning.
Blot spills immediately using a clean cloth or paper towel. If treated right away the lanolin in the wool will help keep the stain from setting in.
Avoid water (keep you potted plants away!). Water that is left on your rug can cause irreversible damage to you rugs foundation. If your rug gets excessively wet bring it to a professional rug cleaner ASAP.
Use a quality rug pad under the rug to extend its life by preventing stretching, sliding or wrinkling. This rug pad is a fine choice. When choosing a how thick you want to the pad, you might consider where you are placing the rug and how drastic of a “lip” or height change makes sense for the area. You might not mind more of a cushion in a living room or hallway, but might not want so much cushion in higher traffic areas like entry or kitchen. For size, it’s safer to order larger rather than too small, then cut to size. If you have other rugs you might factor in using excess for those.
When to see the pros: Your rug has been professionally cleaned prior to purchase, after that we recommend having the rug professionally cleaned every 5-6 years.

Returns are accepted on full price domestic website rug sales within seven (7) days of receipt of item unless noted otherwise in the item description. Rugs purchased during our sale periods are final sale and not eligible for return.

The customer is liable for all fees to properly pack and ship product back to Chamonix. Rugs must be unused and in their original packaging (if applicable). Please ship using UPS or USPS certified mail, we are not responsible for lost or stolen items. Once the rug is received by Chamonix in the same condition as it was shipped a refund will be issued less a re-stocking fee (15% of the total rug price). Shipping fees are non-refundable.
Customer must contact Chamonix within the seven (7) day return window, returns will not be accepted after the seven day window ends. Return rugs must be shipped within three (3) days of notifying Chamonix of your intention to return. International rug sales are not eligible for return/refund.
